ABOUT US

Something is shifting. People are reaching for paper over phones, not out of nostalgia, but out of preference.

In a world that moves fast, picking up a pen is its own kind of clarity. DEAR JOE was built on the belief that some of the best thinking still happens on paper. Each piece is designed to be considered, uncluttered and built to be used not just admired.

We design stationery for those who plan deliberately, creatives who think on paper and anyone who reaches for something tangible when the work begins. DEAR JOE is for the desk of someone who knows that how you show up to the page matters.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Erin Lawton is a New Zealand designer with a deep belief that stationery should be as considered as the work it supports. In a world increasingly lived on screens, she wanted to make something worth putting them down for. Stationery that felt premium without being precious, structured without being rigid, refined without being decorative.

Every Dear Joe piece is designed by Erin. Every detail, the paper weight, the cover material, the spacing on the page, the precision of the binding, is a deliberate decision. Nothing is accidental. Nothing is filler.

Dear Joe is growing. New products, new collections, and new editions are in development, each held to the same standard as the first. The range expands, the principle doesn’t.

"There's something that happens when you put the phone down and pick up a pen. The thinking slows. The page holds things differently. I've always found the quiet moments to be where the best ideas live.

The kind of clarity that only comes when you slow down long enough to notice. That feeling is what I've tried to put into every piece: beautifully resolved, completely functional, worth reaching for every single day.

I hope it earns a permanent place on your desk."
